ROVING BLUE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES PARTICIPATION IN US ARMY JOINT WARFIGHTING ASSESSMENTS

Roving Blue recently participated in the US Army’s Joint Warfighting Assessment in Hohenfels, Germany from April 30-May 10th. The purpose of these assessments are to field test emerging technologies and improve equipment in the soldiers’ hands, year over year, thus ensuring greater soldier survivability and efficiency in the field.

Amidst other technologies, Roving Blue was one of four water purification companies selected to participate in the exercises, which take two years of intense planning to execute. CEO Marianna “Yana” DeMyer and CFO James Gilmet attended the event to personally demonstrate the capabilities of the latest prototype water purification system, Roving Blue MVP-TK™ unit, an ozone-based small water purifier designed to both hydrate troops in mobile vehicles, while simultaneously providing a way to keep produced water pure via an ozone-circulation system called the Tank-Keeper™. This technology represents the latest advances in ozone generation in a tiny (under 25 lbs) system capable of producing the equivalent of a water bottle per minute (.5L) from freshwater surfaces.

During the field exercises the soldiers measured output and evaluated the unit on size, weight and power consumption. Roving Blue was by far the smallest, lightest and most efficient water system to participate.

For more information on the MVP-TK™ capabilities and other small water purifiers, please visit Roving Blue.

ThomasNet.com Interviews Roving Blue CEO Yana DeMyer

ThomasNet.com is the leading product sourcing and supplier discovery platform for procurement professionals, engineers, plant & facility management personnel. They recently interviewed Roving Blue’s CEO, Marianna “Yana” DeMyer about her journey into manufacturing portable ozone-based water purification devices.

1)  What is the mission of Roving Blue?

Our mission is to establish and grow our position as a leading supplier of advanced ozone-based water purification components and systems.

2)  What exactly is the technology that you are using in your mobile purification units?

Our mobile water purification units use 3 technologies; the first two are well understood and accepted: ultra-filtration and carbon filtration, its our 3rd technology which gets all the attention.

It is our ozone generator.  Its different because of the way we make our ozone.  We make it out of the water, not the air. This eliminates a lot of equipment, (such as air pumps), and that means in applications where size and weight are considerations, our technology becomes the clear winner.

3)  Clearly, Roving Blue is bringing disruptive technology to water purification.  Why don’t more of the right people know who you are yet?

Companies don’t get much smaller than we are right now. We don’t have a big ad budget, and rely heavily on social media to get the word out. Up until now that is. It’s not by mistake that we picked Thomasnet.com as a key partner to move forward, to “get the word out”. I personally have used Thomasnet.com for years, sourcing products and components that I need. I just knew that once the engineers and other sourcing folks could find us globally, it would be a great factor in our success.

4)  What else do you want the world to know about Roving Blue?

What I want people to know about Roving Blue is not as important as what I want people to know about ozone. Ozone has a perception problem. Most people understand it as a kind of pollution, or that there is a hole in it high up in the atmosphere, but it is so much more than that.

Ozone is a form of oxygen, “O3” instead of “O2”, and is a completely natural gas. You know that clean fresh smell after a rainstorm? That is the smell of ozone gas, which is produced with lightning.

Ozone is amazing stuff!  When it is dissolved in water, it is far more powerful than chlorine at killing things.  Yet when its job is done, it reverts back to oxygen, usually within minutes.  So there are no chemical byproducts or residues. This makes ozone hands down the cleanest and GREENEST sanitation agent available today.

Ozone is also misunderstood by a lot of technical people in this world, because the only way they have ever seen ozone being produced has been by using air and sparks (just like lightning) and they are all sizable contraptions. We can make our generators so small that you can put it in your pocket, as we did with our “O-Pen” pocket water purifier.

Other than that, I want the world know that we are not so much here to sell our products, as we are willing to partner with anyone who has to fight water quality issues across the board. Whatever industry you are in: food & beverage, paper, dairy, agriculture, aquaculture, the list goes on and on.  Everyone who deals with water has to fight water quality issues, we want to be your portable solutions provider!

Roving Blue CEO Yana DeMyer to Speak at Water Leaders Summit 2017

WATER LEADERS SUMMIT 2017 – A SECURE FUTURE NEEDS WATER

May 23-24 | Milwaukee, Wisconsin USA | Register today

In a digital world, a chain-link fence and a padlock won’t secure your water system.

Water Leaders Summit 2017 is The Water Council’s headline event for the local, national and global water industry. Register to secure your spot to join us on May 23-24 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin – Where Water Works – to connect with a diverse group of water leaders from around the world.

This year’s big idea is focused on water security and brings together thought-leaders at the heart of water security strategy. We’ll be thinking about and talking about security not as a defensive crouch, but as a creative tool. What does it mean to achieve water security? How do you make your community’s water future secure, for people and companies, for cities and for the environment? How do you develop smart, resilient water strategies to avoid water insecurity?

Back by popular demand, Charles Fishman, author of “The Big Thirst” and contributor for Fast Company, will lead provocative “story starters” followed by big idea conversations with water leaders from academia, non-profit organizations, private industry and government. Four plenary sessions will narrow in on: Cyber Security, Environmental Security, Diplomatic Security, and Organizational Security.

Water Leaders Summit 2017 is a collision point for professionals looking for new technology, talent, business growth opportunities, and inspiration. With 300+ targeted attendees, the Summit creates a channel for water professionals to discuss vital current global water issues and advance innovative solutions shaping the future of water technology and our world’s water crisis.

LOOKING BACK—WATER SUMMIT 2016: ESTABLISHING A WATER RESILIENT CITY

As communities near and far experience water shortages and contamination, the world is in need of innovative solutions to address the global water crisis. Cities are thinking about global risks and how to mitigate them, and rethinking urban planning strategies to strengthen resiliency. Utilities are confronted with aging infrastructure, toxic metals, and financial limitations. Companies and academic institutions are developing new water technologies at a rapid rate, and our future generation of water leaders are being trained in water-based careers.

Water Summit 2016 focused on developing a multi-dimensional approach that addresses water use and the investment in the development of new innovative products and solutions that will reinvent how we live and work with water. These topics and key players from all corners of the water space collided into four headlining conversations: resilient health, economics, infrastructure, and industry revolutions. This was the first year the Summit rolled-out a new conference format with 4 plenary sessions combining brief, provocative “story starters” followed by engaging conversations and it was well-liked by all attendees and speakers.

SUMMIT HISTORY

In July 2007, The Water Council convened the first Water Summit at Discovery World on the shores of Lake Michigan. Sixty individuals of various backgrounds attended – fulfilling the initial open, participatory forum that the organizer’s envisioned. Attendees from government, business, and education quickly recognized the potential of Milwaukee as a water industry cluster and began working to make it a reality.

It was decided at the first Water Summit that the Milwaukee region was equipped to take the lead in economic development, education and research across all aspects of water and the Summit was a platform to help generate awareness of Wisconsin’s water technology cluster. Our proximity to an abundant freshwater source, Lake Michigan, to world-class water research facilities and a cluster of companies focused on water technology and supporting freshwater as a human and natural resource through all stages of the water cycle, confirmed that Milwaukee was indeed a World Water Hub. Since 2007, the Water Summit has grown into a two-day event with access to hundreds of the world’s water industry thought-leaders and decision-makers.

Lena, WI – April 12, 2017

Roving Blue Inc., a Wisconsin manufacturer of advanced water purification systems, announces that it has been awarded a $25,000 International Market Access Grant or “IMAG” Grant by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, or WEDC. The WEDC’s mission is to advance and maximize opportunities in Wisconsin for businesses, communities and people to thrive in a globally competitive environment.

“This is no freebie”, said Marianna “Yana” DeMyer, Roving Blue’s CEO; upon hearing the news.  “We had to work hard just to qualify for it, and now we will have to work even harder to fulfill the expectations that come with it.  We are so grateful to the WEDC for this assistance. This grant will super-charge our efforts to expose our product lines to the world. “

“Roving Blue is a great example of how Wisconsin companies can utilize WEDC’s international programs to help boost their exporting efforts,” said Katy Sinnott, WEDC’s Vice President of International Business Development. “Roving Blue has taken part in two WEDC trade ventures and has successfully completed our ExporTech training program, and we believe the IMAG grant will be a key part of the company’s ongoing export strategy.”

Introducing the Next Generation of Roving Blue® Ozone Water Purification Innovation – the OZO-Pod™ 10

Tap into Purity™ with the Ozo-Pod 10™, which gives you the power of ozone to purify water in your own kitchen.

Available now. Click here to get yours today!

Ozonated water is Water That Cleans™”.  Whatever it comes into contact with becomes purified as well.

Even if you purchase organic vegetables, that doesn’t guarantee they are free of microbes.

Easy to use, the Ozo-Pod 10 will quickly bring 5 gallons of water up to 1PPM ozone concentration within minutes. That is a lethal level to almost any microbe that can make you sick.  Ozone also breaks down harmful long-chain molecules that are found in herbicides and pesticides.

Just pour water into a receptacle of your choice, place the pod so that it is completely submerged. Press the ON button and you are in business.  You will quickly find that the uses are endless. Imagine the possibilities:

  • Odiferous athletic gear
  • Vegetables from the farmer’s market
  • The kitchen sink/garbage disposal
  • Smelly sponges

The Ozo-pods are encased in stainless steel for a rugged yet elegant look for years of use, whether in the kitchen or at the campsite.  It utilizes an advanced method to produce ozone; (we make it out of water, not the air), so there are no air pumps or air stones, hence no moving parts to wear out or clog. A bonus feature is that most of the ozone stays in the water as a cloud as opposed to bubbling through – this will limit your exposure because ozone in higher concentrations is not good to breathe.

  • Ozone is approved by both the USDA and the FDA for use in purifying drinking water as well as for food processing.
  • Ozone is a highly germicidal form of oxygen (it is also called “O3” or “tri-oxygen”), in fact, it is stronger than chlorine.
  • Within minutes, ozone reverts back to oxygen, leaving no residue, so it is a truly “green” water purification method.
  • Ozone, unlike UV light, has the ability to remove “off” tastes and odors.

100% no-questions asked satisfaction guarantee.

(Note: Do not use for ozonating olive oil. This does not bubble ozone, it infuses it directly into water, so you cannot use it with oil as the unit needs water to produce ozone.)

ROVING BLUE ANNOUNCES STRATEGIC ALLIANCE WITH NEPHROS TO INTRODUCE NEW CLASS OF PORTABLE WATER PURIFICATION SYSTEM

Lena, WI – November 14, 2016 – Roving Blue Inc., a Wisconsin manufacturer of advanced water purification systems, announces today that it has entered an exclusive license agreement with Nephros, Inc. (OTCQB: NEPH), a New Jersey developer of high performance liquid purification ultrafilters and hemodialfiltration systems. The license agreement covers the NanoBlue ultrafilter for use in Roving Blue’s advanced ozone-based water purification system.

Nephros, Inc., well known for its FDA 510(k) cleared ultrafilters used in hospitals to protect against water-borne pathogens, has granted Roving Blue an exclusive worldwide license for the NanoBlue filter for use in combination with Roving Blue’s MVP, an ozone-based, portable water purification system.

The MVP is housed in a small but rugged waterproof case, smaller and lighter than a single case of water. The system produces a water-bottle-a-minute of clean drinking water, and can support anywhere between 50-160 people per day, depending on the environment.

According to Nephros CEO Daron Evans “At 5 nanometers, the pore size of the NanoBlue ultrafilter can stop particles smaller than viruses from getting through the system. When combined with Roving Blue’s unique ozone based sanitation technology, the MVP is uniquely effective in the purification of water.”

“We like to say that other purification systems may make clean water, but we’re the only company whose machines make water that cleans”, Roving Blue CEO Marianna “Yana” DeMyer said, referring to the downstream capability of the output water. Purified, ozonized has the potential to do anything from providing drinking water to combat troops in biologically hostile environments to washing lettuce that may be tainted with e-coli or other dangerous organisms. Ozone in water combats foul smells and tastes, leaving a clean, fresh taste.

Citing UN Water statistics, Yana said that by the year 2025, half of the world’s population will be living in areas of severe water stress. This means all sources of fresh water, whether from captured rain water, lakes, rivers or streams, will be highly valued & needed for drinking water purposes.

About Roving Blue, Inc.:

Roving Blue manufactures the MVP which is a lightweight, portable water purification system that produces purified drinking water from fresh water sources such as ponds, streams and ditches. It also recently launched the O-Pen, which is an individual use purification device designed to purify any tap water anywhere in the world.  Both represent a significant advancement over microfiltration and UV systems due to their employment of dissolved ozone gas (more powerful than chlorine) for highly effective microbiological control.
